“ Fun night for a fellow Zach Bday. Pinball and shuffleboard was a plus and the bar is huge U shape wrap around with a side room that me less crowded. Good date spot for sure or group hanging. Fire place ambiance too and that fire place super hot much needed on a cold night Also mocktails were a hit. I'm Not dry this January but Im a light weight ”
“ The owners of the bars around town (Sandy jug, The Vern and Lay low, to name a few) sure do know how to score all the best vintage finds and adorn their bars to the very hilt. I love the ambiance in this place--especially when the fireplace is going. Great whiskey selection and a friendly assortment of bartenders. Just know it can get busy as hell because it's one bartender fighting for their life in there. The cauliflower bites are tasty! ”
“ I've seen Double Barrel go through the usual changes over the years - a new menu here, a coat of paint there, some nips and tucks, etc - but it's always remained true to its dive-bar self, so I always find myself returning to a corner seat at the bar. No pretensions, a big old circular bar, cheap beers and strong drinks, terrible house wine, and of course, a trashy bathroom complete with graffiti and a condom vending machine. The bartenders can either be surly or merely tolerant, but that's cause they're always busy - and I'd expect no less from this joint. There are booths if ya want privacy and a very cool library-like side room that feels a bit more upscale, and even a row of vintage pinball machines on the back wall, but at the end of the day Double Barrel always gives me that somewhat gritty, slouching shot of Portland that's harder and harder to find these days. ”
“ Ordered: -Buffalo Cauliflower -Onion Rings -Buffalo Wings with Marionberry sauce -Gochu Peno Burger Pro: -Onion rings were flaky and crisp! -Buffalo cauliflower was the group's favorite & the buffalo sauce was a good balance of tangy and spicy. -The wings had a slight amount of batter on them which made them crunchy to eat. The Marionberry sauce was sweet and good! We'd like to try the spicier sauces next time. -Employees were really friendly and there are happy hour prices starting when they open at 2pm! Con: -The cauliflower would be easier to eat if it were cut into bite sized portions! -Burger was great with grilled veggies in it, but would have been enhanced with fresh vegetables as well! We found it a bit greasy and heavy otherwise. ”
“ Double Barrel slaps so hard. First, the food is incredible. Yummy, comes out fast and hot, and great selection of burgers. My go-tos are Gochupeno and the Western Burger, always with tots. Second, the staff are universally really friendly and manage to hold it down despite it being a pretty large and busy spot. Adam is one of the nicest dudes I've met and Chazz, the dude managing this place is from Texas and brings awesome country playlists featuring the best of indie country, books vinyl djs, including great country djs (DJ Roughrider and DJ Stone Bunny), they've even started bringing in live shows on occasion. Finally, while I usually get a six shooter (rainier and a shot of whiskey), the cocktails I've tried are delish. I go in probably every other week and always have a good time. Keep it up y'all! P.s. Not sure what the deal is with people with virtually no reviews on here throwing shade, don't y'all have better things to do with your time? Trust someone who consistently reviews spots and visits this place regularly, Double Barrel is a gem. ”
“ Great bartenders love the chill atmosphere. We always get the wings. My fave is the classic spicy and their fried cauliflower is also another favorite. Their burgers are also a go to for me ”
“ HH from 2-6 on weekdays, all day Sunday, with daily specials. Their fries are curled wedge fries and are DELICIOUS! Good selection of craft beers, would come back. They also have 2 dart boards and I believe a shuffle board table. ”
